So I saw a video where the guy cleans his headlight lens with toothpaste. I wanted to ask you if you ever heard of that method and if it really works, because my headlight lens are really foggy and it's not going away with water.

What do you think/know about this?

I've never heard of using toothpaste as a way of cleaning up your headlights... I usually just apply soap and water to a sponge and clean it up, then I use some aluminium polishing compound and then cleaning it with a dry towel.

This is the first I have ever heard of this. It would be wonderful if it does work, very eco friendly! I've seen an infomercial about a product that's suppose to clear fogged headlights. I don't that one is as eco friendly though. Thanks for making this post. This is something I may have to look into.

I don't believe that's possible, the main reason your lights look "foggy" is that the protective layer has worn off, tooth paste won't do a thing.
I recommend trying to polish them and after that apply the protective layer, there are specialised companies that do that, or if you have a little more money try to replace the headlight glass, there are some companies that make molds from plexiglass, it's cheaper than buying a new headlight. Search the internet for 10 minutes and you'll find it.

Well in the video I saw it worked and some other people knew of it, so I'll give it a try first. If nothing I'll buy the products and polish it myself. :)

They say it works. I use wet sand paper when I do them. It doesn't hurt to try it. Just tape off your paint. Anything that will take the haze off without strong chemicals will be abrasive so you don't want to scuff the paint. Tooth paste shouldn't hurt the paint much but it could dull the clear if you rub it too much. It is just better to tape off around the light to be safe when doing them.

Some videos are scams. But I do believe it will work for light work. But it wouldn't be aggressive enough for some of the lights I have done.

I say go for it. Toothpaste is inexpensive, so it's not like you'll be out a whole lot of money if you try it and it doesn't work. You probably don't even have to buy any toothpaste, just use what you have on hand if you have enough.
I've cleaned jewelry with toothpaste and an old toothbrush, and the jewelry came out looking shiny, so hey, it might work on headlights as well, can't hurt to try.
