I just picked this up from a MMA site I like. The main players are UFC Pres Dana White who said that Cris Cyborg would be stupid to fight Ronda cause she will get her butt kicked.
Ronda has said she is the belt holder and she is not moving weight class.
Well Cris Cyborg, who is a scary and so muscular and who I have seen just put a beat down on other top female fighters, has now gotten mad over this and called Ronda out.
Cyborg states she is not afraid of Ronda, who seems to have brought trash talk to women's MMA.
Cris said she simply can't make the drop down to 135 pounds. However, Santos is more than willing meet Rousey at a catch weight of 140 pounds. If that's not enough, she will gladly step into the Octagon against the former Judoka with one hand tied behind her back.
Cyborg said she believes White is looking for every advantage that will favor his new golden girl, which is the reason he wants the fight to take place at bantamweight

"I am not afraid of Ronda! I will fight her anywhere and anytime for free. Everyone knows I barely make 145, but I am willing to sacrifice and meet her half way at 140. I can't believe Dana says I want nothing to do with Ronda. What he wants me to do is fight Ronda with both my hands tied behind my back or comatosed-so that she can have a chance-which is what making me fight at 135 is -- to finally shut everyone up -- I will fight Ronda with one hand tied behind my Back at 140lb and still kick her ass and prove that I'm the real champ not her- and let the winner take ALL Come on rhonda step up bitch!"
Frankly I reallly don't think Cris is afraid of R and her armbar.

Dana white is a douche, sorry but it has to be said. He's putting the future of women in MMA straight on the shoulders of Armbar Rousey and taunting other fighters? The man has no class.

Those two are going to hurt each other when they meet (Rousey and Cyborg) and Cyborg is going to be seriously weakened by the time the fight even starts, where's the honor in that fight, DANA?

Honestly if Rhonda is going to trash talk Cyborg it's up to Rhonda to move up in weight class, not pull Cyborg down.

I think the offer of a match at 140 is enough of a weight drop for Cyborg. Not 135.
And I personally think if Ronda wants the fight then she can allow that five pound up limit.
It would really be a kick in the head to Dana White if Ronda loses that first title match.
Wow will Dana be surprised if that happens.
I can understand the promo of Ronda, she has a lot going for her but Cris Cyborg, well I think she is awsome. I like the fact that Tito is managing her. Of course Dana and Tito have history, a lot of history.
I have to add I am not impressed with Ronda's attack on George St. Pierre. IMHO it did not look good on her. But I won't downgrade her accomplishments. In both Judo and MMA.

Dana is odd at times. I don't think that is the way to promote the fight.

The design looks nice indeed, but I think that it would look more good on males rather than on females.

This woman does look menacing. The dragon tattoo says it. Not to mention her muscular back, I'd be afraid to fight her.

The dragon tattoo looks a little unfinished to me. Since it's hanging onto her back it needs to have the claws dug in so some torn flesh around the claws would be good :)

I wonder why she decided to keep the colors so dark, they'll fade to that color in time anyway.

Well apparently the Cris Cyborg vs Ronda fight is not going to happen, so it seems.
Cris offered a fight at 140, Ronda says I am the champ and I fight at 135.
Now Cris who is managed by the great Tito Ortiz has asked to be released from the UFC.
And she will look to be a fighter elsewhere, according to an MMA site. Actually I have to say I did not know that Cyborg had signed with UFC although I was aware that there were some talks, but according to the site, she has asked for release. Maybe there was some sort of thing in the works.
I wonder if Women's MMA will be a short and sweet chapter with the UFC.

I didn't think there was any where big to fight anymore when it came to MMA other then the UFC? Didn't all of the big ones go under? Where is she going to fight?

Don't have an answer to that good question. But I can understand Cyborg's stand.

Oh I can understand anyone wanting to leave the UFC. They are the big show in MMA but I don't like everything being in house. I also feel that most fighters are underpaid in that set up. Some lesser names might do better under that system. I don't like that he tries to control endorsements and so on.

So Cris Cyborg has now signed with another fight agency, Invicta FC.
And apparently her first fight is already set. Cyborg will square off with fellow Brazilian and two-time Invicta veteran Ediane Gomes at Invicta FC 5 on April 5 in Kansas City.
And a lot of fans are disappointed she won't be getting in the octogon with Ronda.
Anyway, Cris now has a venue once again.

The names sounds familiar for some reason. I didn't know they had an all woman MMA company.

I guess the downside for Cris Cyborg is simply that Invicta will not have the profile or the $$$ that UFC could have come up with for her. But heck I can understand the move. Of course Cris is not as telegenic as Ronda and her English is not very good at all, neither of which detract from her martial arts skills but do impact her as a marketable champion and icon with UFC.
I am also going to be interested in the Ronda fight Saturday night, see if she meets the great expectations and pulls off another arm bar win in the first round.

Those thinks could affect any endorsment deals in North America which is the advantage of not being with the ufc. But she could pick some anyway. It will be interestring.

I will try to put up those fights tonight for anyone that is interested in it.

Hey James Yeah I will be on it if it is up. See if I can get up to break even point on my bets. I wonder is anyone thinking Ronda will actually lose?
Anyhow, I will have to hit the internet late Saturday or early Sunday to find out results. I did find a site that actually gave me a round by round on the last UFC but did not broadcast the fight. Hers is the final fight on the card I think.
From what I guess the predictions are, it will be a first round arm bar finish. Someone called her a one trick pony. And actually arm bar with Ronda seems like all I hear. But she was a judo olympian so it is obvious she is an elite athlete. And she is in amazing physical shape too.

I put all the events for tonight and all the UFC events that I could find up until the end of April.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out. She might end up being a one trick pony. If she wins it looks better for her. If you know the one your fighting only has one move and they bet you with it...
