    As you might have noticed, we now have a virtual sports betting system on GearHead Central. I'm the only one that can post events right now. If you have something you want posted, let me know in here. Just make sure to let me know in time to post it.

    I will be using odds from sports betting sites. The one I used for the Dallas/New York game is from skybet. So all games will have real odds.

    The bets are made with virtual money. All members started with $1000. The sportsbook can be found under the logo, right next to the forum tab or you can just click this link http://www.gearheadcentral.com/index.php?sportsbook/.

    There you will find a list of all current open bets and the last 5 settled bets.

    If I haven't posted a bet that you might want listed you can post it here.

    To bet, click on an event your interested in, click place bet, and enter your amount and your all set.

    Update. I have added a new "banking" system to GearHead Central. Under your name, at the bottom of the box, you will see your virtual cash amount. Money is awarded for doing different things on the site, posting for example. This money can be used in our Sportsbook to make bets. I gave a bunch of members $1000 to start with. If you haven't received your $1000, you can send me a private message or just ask for it here.

    How does the account get replenished when you run out? I just saw and it looks pretty cool. Thanks for this topic so we can get some more info because I couldn't find anything.

    With the old system it would give money when you went broke. Using this new banking system that gives you money to post, it doesn't have that feature. If someone runs out I can give them money. I think once a week is fair so someone isn't going crazy and wanting to just bet the max and then ask for more if they lose. So we can do $200 on Friday's if someone is lower then $50.

    I'm going to add tomorrows NFL games on thre and I will look to see if there is anything else interesting to add for tonight or tomorrow in other sports.

    Great feature, this sounds like fun! Thanks Admin! I made a wager on Jones, but I'd love to see Vitor win it. I need to learn what these odds mean. Does anyone have a good link that explains it or something? Thanks in advance!

    The odds are not too hard to figure out. The Jones fan for example, is 1/10. That means you have to bet $10 to win $1. So he is a favorite in the fight. Odds of 10/1 would mean you would win $10 for every $1 you bet.

    You will see two types of bets tonight.

    Spread bet. This bet has a handicap to start. The favorite will be down in points before the game starts and the under dog will have a points advantage.

    NY Giants +2.5 1/1
    Carolina -2.5 5/6

    So if you pick Carolina you will be down by -2.5. If they win by 3 or more you win. If you pick the Giants, they can lose by 2 and you will still win.

    Money line bet is just a straight, pick the winner type bet. If they win, you win. You don't have to worry about a points spread.

    NY Giants 5/4
    Carolina 4/6

    If your picking Carolina, you can earn more by taking the spread because there is a little more risk.

    With the under dog you get more by picking the money line because you are not getting any points so the team has to win the game for you to win. If you had a heavy under dog you might get +13.5 points on a team. If that team can keep it close you can win.

    Does that make sense?

    I have all the Sunday NFL games posted. I have 8 bets for todays games.

    If you check here http://www.gearheadcentral.com/index.php?sportsbook-stats/ you can see (down at the bottom) that I'm #1 for the combined wins. Who is going to try to take my #1 spot.

    I do have more losses then win going by dollar amount but have one more win that losses by games.

    If you are into sports betting, Sportsbook are probably the best on the market. There are a lot of other books to choose from but they pay out fast and have a wide customer base worldwide, I wouldnt use any other site!
