Hey guys, when I went to one mechanic, they adjusted the idle of my car to just below 1000 RPM. But when I went to another mechanic, he said that he had to adjust the idle and put it at about 500 RPM only. What do you think is the best idle adjustment for a 1996 Toyota Corolla GLi? What are the effects if the idle is too high or too low?

Is it running fine at 500 rpm. If it is running fine I would leave it where it is.

Yup, it's fine at 500 rpm. The only problem I encounter is that the engine usually stalls when I start the car up for the first time in a day and turn the A/C on. I don't know if that is a problem that involves the idle of my car though.
