What does everyone think of Usain Bolt setting a new 100 meter record and shining on all of the haters?

I think its great that he won and set a new Olympic record. He seems like a great young man and he is a fast sprinter. I hope he wins the 200m and hope he races the 4X100m and wins that.

I watched the story on what he did for his home town. He renovated the local clinic, put electricity in his first school, put computers in another one he went to and for his high school he hooked them up with sneakers. When he signed his deal with Puma he had a clause in there that they would provide sneakers for the school. They don't have to pay for running sneakers or running spikes, they are all provided for free from Puma. That was cool of Bolt to do.

His parents live in the old house even though he makes big money. The money part doesn't mean as much to them.

They said after the race that he makes 80% of the money in sprinting. He has done well.

In Fastest Field Ever, the World’s Fastest Man Proves It Again

"He is still No. 1, still the Olympic champion at 100 meters, still the fastest man alive, still history’s greatest sprinter, still unmatched in his stirring ability to rise to the moment.
Having completed his work Sunday night in 9.63 seconds, an Olympic record, the second-fastest time ever run, Bolt put on a celebratory show for the 80,000 people in the stadium and the millions more watching from afar. His performance, after all, had happened just hours before Jamaica’s 50th anniversary of independence from Britain, a combination of events that gave rise to celebrations from Brixton to Kingston."

That was good. Did you get to see Bolts 100m race or the Canadian girls soccer game? The Canadian girls played an amazing game and had a chance to win. They had some bad call and the USA girls wouldn't give up. Great game.

I watched Bolt race (saw it on your status) I was rooting for him, saw him in the earlier races. Fun to watch, I think I can run faster lol. Didn't watch any soccer, did watch some volley ball and gymnastics.

LOL. I think you two would be close in a race. I can see you easily getting second place in a (one on one) race with Bolt.

I have been watching most of the weekend. I watched a lot of the gymnastics myself. I missed volleyball. I watched hours and hours of track. I'm going to miss the 200m tomorrow. I will have to watch replays tomorrow night sometime.

I've been watching most at night, Eastlink has it on demand by events so I've watched some of those and usually watch it around 9 for a recap of the days events.

Damn. I wonder if Bell has that? I never thought to check on demand. That would make the Olympics so so easy to follow.

I have been watching it but i don't really find it that interesting to sit down and watch the Olympics all day. Also the amount of time our country had prepared for the Olympics and its over in a week or two i just don't think its that worth it.

And now the Olympic hangover begins and we can go back to not caring about badminton and gymnastics...I wish some of these sports were on more often; it sucks when the Olympics comes and goes.

The past London Olympics were really good. I saw a lot of great performances, including Bolt. He was there again at the most important moments.
I actually enjoyed watching badminton, a sport I played in the past and that I really like. I wish I could see that more, same like table tennis and some other sports. Unfortunately many sports don't get covered throughout the year, except during big events.
