To some they are a guilty pleasure that you don't really admit to in public. So let me be first to come out of the closet with a few of my favorites. They are in no specific order and I can't tell you what draws me to each...some are clearly the "train wreck" factor and others....who knows

    1) Hard core pawn (grew up outside Detroit, so...)

    2) Call of the Wildman (the turtle man and critter catcher...I have no explanation)

    3) Honey Boo Boo ( I plead the Fifth)

    4) Fast and Loud (car guys, how can you resist)

    So come on...what are yours?

I have watched Hardcore Pawn before. I like the other Pawn show better but haven't watched that in a while. I don't even like reading news on Honey Boo Boo so I have never watched that.

These are the ones I enjoy watching
    • Fast and Loud
    • Counting Cars
    • Ice Road Truckers
    • Highway Thru Hell
You might see a little trend in those. I'm sure there is more that I'm forgetting. My wife watches Big Brother so I'm stuck watching that two or three times a week.

I'm finishing up this season of MasterChef, although I've also been following a blog from one of the former contestants and finding out that a lot of stuff on this show is faked. In fact one of the contestants this season appears to have been a planted actress. Some people found her modeling shots online, and she looks nothing like how she is presenting herself on the show.

I also love Chopped. In fact I just participated in an online chat session with the host of the show yesterday, and he was really nice and answering all of our questions.

I used to watch a few different reality shows but haven't watched any in quite a long time. I liked Storage Wars for a while until I learned it was all fake.

Right now, the only reality show that I watch is Keeping Up With The Kardashians, but I don't watch it religiously. I watch it because I find Scott and Rob cute, especially when Rob was still thin.

I can see the trend in those so you are definitely in the right place here. I know some of mine are a bit embarrasing but I wanted to see what fell out when I opened this topic.

Thanks OhioTom76, webgrind and sidney. I forgot about the cooking shows...yes sometimes when I can't find anything else I have watched Hell's kitchen and the cake, cupcake guy. Storage wars is fake??? Well, I'll be...I watched it for a while (or was it Storage hunters) but the main characters started to bug me. As to the Kardashians, not my cup of tea at all...I would rather see a guy who wrestles an alligator and runs a rescue to Turtleman picking up a racoon for 40 bucks and a mason jar of butter pickles. I think that is a better representation of Americana than the Kardashians being catty with each other and making millions promoting themselves.

I'm not that into reality TV shows, but I used to be when I was younger. Ugh, I used to watch the VH1 ones, so... you can imagine. I kinda grew up watching Flavour of love and Surreal life (Ugh!). I wish most TV shows they air on my favorite TV channels weren't so trashy... on the other hand, I couldn't be happier the Pauly D reality show is no longer aired on MTV!!!! Thank you Jesus!!!!!!!!!

I don't watch them regularly. But I really enjoy extreme couponers and toddlers in tiaras!
I'll watch almost anything if I'm bored. :)

I have watched the show called Amish Mafia and I find it very funny. The networks can make a show on just about anything and sell it to the public viewers. I remember the 1980s movie called the "Running Man" written by Richard Bachman (a.k.a. Stephen King). It was the setting for reality T.V. that would be coming in the near future and he was right.

Amish Mafia? I forgot about that. Yes I kind of got drawn in by all the Amish drama...sort of an oxymoron I used to think from these quiet private people...UNTIL THE GOT A REALITY SHOW! Ha, will it never stop!

I honestly try to avoid those. I don't really think they are of any use and after my daily activities I simply don't have any time to waste on such shows. Perhaps I'm missing something, but I guess I never got down to it. Every time when I turn the TV on, unless it's some quality movie, I simply scroll trough channels and so on. When I reach the reality shows, I don't find them enjoyable and carry on with the scrolling.

There is no shame in admitting the truth. Fortunately for me i dont really do a lot of reality TV shows. I would say that big brother is the only show that i can soy that i spent a lot of time watching. Apart from that there is nothing that really interests me so much.

I watched big brother when it first came out maybe 10 years ago, but now I really don't, all it's interest in watching the girls in underwear right? :snaphappy:

Sure, I'll admit I'm somewhat keeping up with The Voice this season. I will have to say a lot of the reality shows are such a waste of time. Some of the ideas are either so boring or too cheesy I'm not sure how they stay on TV.

I could never admit to watching a reality show because there is a reality check here; I have never watched this kind of programs because I found irrelevant both people who participate and whatever they are doing in those shows.

Just the sole fact of hearing that a new reality show is coming bores me to death.

Come on, really? Have you seen Shark Tank? Or Total Wipeout? These are great and interesting shows, I wish I could participate in any of them. Why do you find them boring?
