1981 Oldsmobile Toronado

    Here is my 1981 Oldsmobile Toronado. This is my daily driver that I am also preserving. This is my second Toronado of this generation, my first one was stolen and totaled my first week in college (many years ago). I've had a bunch of new cars since, but I decided "Why spend all this money on a new car when this is what I really want!?"

    So I went and bought it for $2300... and now no car payment! I do most of the work myself.

    Just to drive it and preserve it as much as possible in the process. It is my daily driver till I find a used Avalanche I like.

    Was the car ready to roll when you bought it? How many miles on the car? I can't get over the condition of the car.

    The Avalanche is a nice truck. I remember them driving me crazy during the first detail I did on one. Everywhere I turned I seemed to find another compartment in it. The detail took a little longer then expected. But in the end it was worth it. We did it free for a local dealer to show them the level of work we offer. In the end we ended up getting business from them.

    Dude! That Toronado is sweet!

    I had a 1984! Loved that thing. That's what taught me everything I know about cars. Every time it needed something fixed, I'd do it, and add a little bit more knowledge to the memory banks.

    Believe it or not, my Toronado is the reason I started smoking cigars! (Bet no ones ever heard that reason before. "My car peer pressured me") The car had 4 ashtrays and cigarette lighters. A couple months after I bought it (for $1800) I was sitting there thinking, "This car is way too classy for me. I had better step my game up." So I bought a cigar!

    This is great! You don't see many of these beauties anymore.

    But yea. Beautiful cars! Check mine out!

    They're almost identical.

    What a nice car, it's a little old, but it's still stylish. I would love to pick it up and make some modifications...
