Have you ever been involved in a car accident? Was it your fault?

I've personally been involved in car accident. It was about 7 pm in the evening, I had been eating at Burger King with some friends of mine. We were all driving side by side in our own cars and as I was looking to my side to merge to the left, I failed to notice that the stop lights had turned red right into front of me and proceeded to rear end someone. While there was no damage, my victims enjoyed trying to extort as much money from me as possible...

The closet I've come to getting in a car accident was when I was in a car with some people a few years ago (my mother's friend's family) and the woman driving (my mother's friend) wasn't paying attention and didn't push on the brakes fast enough at a stop light and we rolled into the car in front of us (which was actually the women's sister, whom we were following). There was no harm done to either of the cars or anyone in the cars, but it was a jolt.
Actually, there was this other time when I was in a car with my sister, a friend, and the friend's grandma (who was driving and actually isn't very old). She started pulling into the turn lane and this crazy driver with a trailer attached to the back of their truck came very, very close to side-sweeping us. She jerked the wheel just in time and the truck passed by about a foot away from us. That was pretty scary.

I have been involved in car accidents about a couple of times; actually, more than a couple. The only one that I distinctly remember is the one which involved just my car and I am glad and blessed to be fine.

I was driving on the expressway and doing a 140 kmph in my Honda City and at that point I had a tire burst. The front passenger side tire burst and so powerful was the burst that it just blew away the front fender. But miraculously I did not lose control and just allowed the car to slow down rather than breaking.

My luck was such that there was no other car around me and the ones behind were far enough to take evasive action. This allowed me to drive it safely to the side and get out. The tire had disintegrated. Somehow, I survived. Also, I have a lot of admiration for my Honda car, for the stability even in that condition. Maybe this could be taken as a testimonial by the Honda team.

I have only been in one and only one accident. I wasn't at fault. The other driver technically was, but it was on a really weird intersection that was notorious for accidents, so its hard to fault him too much. Both cars were pretty badly hosed, but no one was hurt.

If you hit from behind it is your fault, but if no damages were made why did they want the money for?

Yeah, I have been involved in a minor car accident before, but it was my friend who was driving, and her headlights was damaged by the car behind her. Luckily, the driver paid for the damages.

I was almost involved in one a few years ago, a guy almost hit us with his car; it was so close! He didn't hit us, but this was a really close call! My mom was driving and I was just a teen back then, so we were pretty scared and right after that we just looked at each other like saying: ''Woah, that was close! and you know it!''. I've seen some pretty bad accidents on the road myself, I once saw a really bad car accident... both cars were a wrech and the drivers...

I haven't been in a car accident before but my best friend has and just talking to her about the experience has given me at least a tiny bit of empathy for what it would feel like. :/ It seems like multiple aspects of the accident always come back to haunt you in some form or another, mainly if your insurance company or the court (depending on the situation) takes a long time to process things. The accident wasn't her fault, but there were two fatalities and memories of the incident are traumatizing to her, so she gets especially upset when something involving the accident flares up again and shows up in her life.

My wife was hit from behind, our car was stopped and the guy was just daydreaming. She needed to go to the hospital and she was sore for a couple of weeks in the back, fortunatley nothing too serious.

I've been in a fender bender that was my fault. Fortunately, I didn't actually bend his fender, I just tapped him. We pulled over, he wiped off his bumper, saw no damage, told me to be careful and let me go.

I've been in two accidents in which I was injured and they were so far from my fault that I actually get mad sometimes because the second one seemed to mess a lot of things up for me. But, it was meant to be.

I have been involved in a little accident and yes it was my fault. I rearended someone in traffic not looking. Thank god it wasn't serious but it was a dumb mistake and I will not make that again.

I was pretty reckless when I was younger... :( There was a time I was driving in the left lane and I wanted to overtake and the guy just didn't move away, so I went to the center lane and tried to overtake him from there, but this guy was a real **** and he started going faster just for me not to pass him, I had a car ahead and couldn't manage to break in time, it was really messy, but luckily no one got hurt.

I remember it when for the first time I met with an accident, actually I got a patient at the back seat of my car and she was very serious. That's the reason I had to ride recklessly, and got the bumper destroyed totally.

The good thing was that no one was injured.

I've been involved in quite a few accidents over the years. Only one of which was my fault. The other 4 times I was rear ended by idiots who don't know how to drive.

I have been in a car accident once and the fault was mine. I was driving on a road with a lot of ruts. There was just one car ahead of me and the driver was trying to skip the ruts just as I was. I somehow misjudged his speed and slammed into his bumper. The guy was not upset. We settled everything maturely and the cost was minimal.
