Some new features coming.

We are going to add some features to Gearhead Central.

One is a better invite feature. The other one went unused and was missing some feature that I feel are needed. I want to purchase one that shows some promise. This new one will show how many sign ups someone had in there profile stats. I plan on tying this into another feature.

One of my goals when I wanted to start a forum was to give a lot back to the members. Give them a great place to hang out is key but I wanted to have gifts for them as well. I have had contests and want to continue doing that. Most require you to do something. One being the Events contest that @Ryder13 won. I still want to have them. They can be fun and they help the site. I also want to have a contest for just being hear and posting. To do this I will be purchasing a competition add on. This add on will allow me, as well as advertisers to put up contests for members.

I'm hoping to have a monthly contest for members. What do they need to do? Just post and go in and click on the button to enter the contest. How many posts is yet to be determined but it will be reasonable.

Using these two features I to have two other contests. One will be for any member that refers someone. That person will have to post X amount of time to count. The member to made the referral will be added to a special user group. I plan on having a contest that is just for that user group. So you will compete against others who referred members to Gearhead Central. It will be our way of saying thanks. I want to leave those members in that group until this win. So you can enter that every month that you are actively posting.

To help those members get the referrals, I want to have the same set up for the referred members. So they will be able to win a prize as well for signing up and posting.

I also feel it will only be right to have a contest for Founding Members.

Not all of these contest will be monthly at first but there will be one for all members monthly. With the add on, it picks a winner automatically when the contest closes. I think this is a nice way to do it.

Also on the list is a image gallery. You will be able to post pictures of your rides there. I'm still deciding on which one I will purchase. I would like to have this set up this month. Next month at the latest. It is a much over do feature.

Sounds good. Is that the same camera that you had or is it a new one? I still need to buy one. I'm hoping to do that this winter. I missed all of the car shows this year. Next year I want to hit a lot of them.

Nice. Making use of all the old lenses is nice. Saves a lot of money.

I purchased the competition software today. I'm setting it up now. Hopefully I will have a contest up and running for you guys soon (maybe over the next few days. One thing I'm trying to do is pick a prize).

We have our first product for Gearhead Central's new competition software. I want to thank @magnetman from www.monstaliner.com. They are going to offer up the first product. Details to follow. One of the great things about the software is that it will have an alert showing you how many contests are up that you haven't entered yet.

I felt that the image gallery was one of the more important features that this site was missing. So because of that I added it to the list and bumped it to the top. We now have an image gallery. It is called Showcase. You can find the tab at the top of the page. It will have a notification when something new is posted. You can also click on any ones avatar and if they have one you will see Showcase listed there. Click on the number to go to their vehicles. Click on mine to check out mine.

All items added to it will create a thread. That thread will go into the car build section. So they can find you in the showcase, car build section and by clicking on your avatar.
