My husband and I have always talked about getting a camper so we could just go on a road trip. We wanted to just go wherever the roads take us without really planning anything out. Obviously, it is not something we can do now for lack of money (mostly). But, I think it would be something fun to do later in life. Maybe one summer when my son is a little older so he could enjoy it.

I have a lot of friends online that I've met through my work and through my online gaming habits. So, I think it'd be fun to meet some of them too.

It's been a pretty long time since I've gone on a road trip that was longer than driving 2-3 hours to a vacation spot that is not too far away from home.

A road trip, definitely put me in, one of my hobbies is traveling, i mean going to a new environment other than the one you are used too...the term would be; bliss.. i actually have a list of the road trips i' d love to take..plus i love the ideas and guides they give especially from this site; www.lonelyplanet.com. I used to take many road trips when i was small especially with the scouting club, camping was my favorite, don't know what happened as i grew up..too many assignments i guess.. i believe its time i really look forward to taking one or two road trips per month, plus in our country there is a saying that goes like this; {kuiishi kwingi, kuona mengi} meaning the more you visit new places, the more you get to learn new things.

That sounds like a pretty exciting trip you have planned, let's hope it comes true. I've always want to go on one of those trips too. The ones that I've gone on were only 3-4 hours and we are always hasting to get back home, especially when it's late at night and we don't want to pay to stop over. A camper sounds like a better idea for us too. Good luck there.

I would like to have a small camper van for road trips, as well. Years ago, I had one of the VW Westfalia camper buses, and that was just the greatest little van ever ! It was easy to sleep in, and when we stopped for the night, the top popped up, so kids could sleep up there. I happily traveled with 5 of us-2 adults, 3 kids- in the van. We went down the West Coast, and stopped to see the Sea Lion Caves, and several other interesting places along the way. At nite, we stopped at campgrounds, so the kids could all get out and run around , and we had a swimming pool and showers there, as well.
Dinner might be hot dogs over the little campfire on the bbq; or sometimes we checked for snacks at the campground store.
Now, there is just my husband, myself, and Chipper our little Yorkie-poo ; so there would not even need to be the pop-top bed; but it is nice to be able to stand up, especially when it is a tall person like my husband is.
Right now, we don't travel much; but if we had a camper again, then we would enjoy doing some traveling again.

A road trip is a whole lot of fun, especially when it is prepared right and nothing goes wrong. I am suppose to be taking a road trip to Orlanda, Florida with family and I we are driving in a luxury conversion van with TV's, surround sound, comfy recliner seats and the whole works. That is the way to take a road trip, not just in a camper. But a camper would be fun as well.

I love the idea. I hope you guys are able to accomplish that in the future. I've always wanted to do the same thing. Probably when I'm around 50. I want a really nice RV so it can be a comfortable trip for whoever wants to go.

I've been on a few in my day. Those cross country tips are excellent in my opinion. I love stopping in a new town everyday and seeing parts of the country I've never seen before.
