I always hand wash my car. I don't trust anyone with my car because no one will treat you car with care as much as you will. They just want to get paid. Also, I hand wash my car because I know my entire car is clean and while you hand wash your car, you might discover some scratches that you might want to fix. And I agree with James, it is the best way to wash it if you do it right.

When I got my first car I was so vain to get dirt by washing it by hand, so I basically used an automated car wash service, but overtime... I kept doing the same because I don't like to get dirt anyway :D

    Hand wash my car.

You get to know your car better. You can see if there is any damage, any body panels coming loose, lights fogging up, tire wear, etc. It's very easy to do and the cost of having it done could be worth 50-75 washes on your own.

I get my car wash at home by hand on occasion but most times I get it done at the car wash. They do hand wash and power machine which is not bad but we have to keep reminding them of all the spots they missed on the previous visit.

    Slowly and sensually?

I hand wash my car. One of my friends does detailing for a living and has done it a few times on some of my cars, which is nice, but not necessary. I enjoy doing it, it's relaxing for me. Tomorrow is actually wash day, since the pollen has been so bad. If my car looks good, it makes me feel good, so it's something I really get a lot out of doing. It's also a lot easier to tell if someone has scratched your car if it's clean...

I do it myself but not regularly. in a month I can just do it twice. I just do when whenever someone will be watching my kid and I get to clean the car. Cleaning inside the car is much difficult than outside though.

Okay... that's one thing I absolutely will pay for. Our shopvac died, and that thing was so powerful to vacuum out your car with. So now I take mine up to a car wash and pay like $1 to use their vacuums. They're super heavy duty, and will suck up something as big as a soda can with no issues. So much easier than lugging around the vacuum cleaner because I inevitably end up smacking some part of my car with the vacuum or one of the hoses =/
