Well you should always scan the file before opening it first, but I have encountered malware when I downloaded a pdf and exe file. Well the pc was on around 8 to 9 hours per day and it took me 2 days to download Devious Maids. It depends on the number of peers, the more peers, the faster the download.

Cool, thanks for the heads up in that regard, what 2 days to download :wideeye:....then i would wonder how long it would take to dowload the 17 GB you were talking about :coffee:

@ dianethare, Ah I skipped that one, that 17 GB was the 7th season of DH, I didn't choose it and I opted for the 7 GB instead. It has less peers but I don't mind, I actually saw on the comments that the person was grateful that she found that 7 GB DH file version because the size was "acceptable". I think that 17 GB is more clear or probably blue ray in quality. Or it has a higher resolution size.

Wow, your friend bit her lip and didn't know until she tasted her own blood:wideyed::nailbiting:? That would not have made me reevaluate the soap operas, but it would have made me reevaluate that particular friend:joyful:.

I mean, soaps and TV shows are for #1, selling the ads that come on during the shows. Then #2, for entertainment purposes. I think that soap operas are very entertaining, and you can learn some valuable life lessons from them sometimes. I get really into them, but hopefully I will never bite my own lip over them.

I like to look at soaps for the fashion, and the interior design. Like on Young and the Restless, I really like a lot of the clothes and the jewelry that the women wear, and I like how the sets are decorated. Take Victoria's house for instance. I really like that decor. I also love the decor in Jack's house, but mostly in his particular house, I like the fresh flower arrangements that they have in there. Gorgeous:happy:. Same thing on Bold and the Beautiful, beautiful set, and some of the clothes are fabulous.

The character Hope on Bold and the Beautiful wears some of the prettiest things:snaphappy::snaphappy:. She's a gorgeous girl and wears her wardrobe flawlessly:thumbsup:.

Some of the men on the soaps aren't too bad to look at either:woot:.

As far as telenovelas, I'm watching a couple of them, but not religiously. I'm waiting for William Levy:inlove::inlove: to appear on a telenovela, then I will be watching faithfully every night.

You are right about learning life's lessons from soaps, and good ones too. I guess my friend got all caught up in it and forgot that although some of these things do happen in real life, what she was seeing wasn't. I thought of it as being a little crazy though, so I didn't want to get carried away like that too. My favorites are now reality shows. I think it's the closest I can get to soaps.

@ sidney, so long as its viewable, i guess no need to stress over the 17 GB, i bet it might be expensive to download for that long, in my area...in terms of units and might give my battery charge a run for its 'charge'...once my laptop is in tiptop shape, am definitely hooking up Devious maids :p:D

You no longer watch F.R.I.E.N.D.S.? Why? I still watch it from time to time, it's on of those feel-good TV shows for me, more like a comfort TV show :) Glad they still air it!

I see, why don't you just remove the battery and use electricity to use it? I have DH DVD's from Season 1 to 6, the pirated ones, so I'm just downloading the last 2 seasons. I still do not know what happened but I heard Mike was killed, thanks to DH updates in FB. Devious Maids Season 2 just started airing last April 20, so it's still a long wait for those torrents! DH has around 18 to 22 episodes per season, unfortunately Devious Maids only have 13 episodes in Season 1. I wish they had more episodes, it's that good!

Lol. I even have a TV show tracker app to remind me of their air time. I just follow their schedule so I don't need to catch up and stay long in front of the screen when I missed the show.

@ sidney, yes Mike got shot, i was so into the scene, i thought i was there, i cried rivers upon rivers, such scenes easily beset me, i was also sad the way it ended, kind of suspense-ish, i can't use electricity with this one, its an ancient kind :meh:...am busy weighing in between repairs or getting a new one;)

Well, just because your friend got caught up in a soap like that doesn't mean that you are going to do the same thing, but then again, you never know.
I myself really get into TV shows because I like a good story. Whether it is in a book, or whether it is on TV, a good story can pull me in all the time.

I don't watch that much reality TV. Every now and then I might watch Keeping up with the Kardashians, because I really like Kim Kardashian-West. A lot of people hate on her, but I don't. Maybe if I knew her in-person I would totally dislike her, but I really like watching her on TV.

I recently have started watching a show called "The Good Wife." I'm all late in this because that show is already in season 4 or 5, but I only started watching it this week:joyful:.

I once watched Keeping up with the Kardashians religiously too but after the cable was down for I while I never got back into it but I enjoyed the drama. The Good Wife, I have seen a few series and it does look interesting too but it is not so much within my schedule.

I will watch anything drama but especially reality shows. Most people can't stand them but I really get a kick out of seeing how these people live their lives.

I think sometimes people don't like reality shows because many times there isn't that much "reality" in them. I think that when a reality show first comes on, it's pretty "real". But after the show has been on awhile, it's just people performing for the camera to get that check. Can't be mad at that though. There are worse ways to make a living.

I've never watched Keeping up with the Kardashains religiously, I've only watched it a few times, every now and then, but as I said, only because I like Kim K. I like Khloe too though, and have watched Khloe and Lamar a couple of times. I like the way that Khloe's house looked on the inside. Usually if I like the "interior" of a house on any show, I'll watch that show just to see the interior design.

I never really paid attention to The Good Wife when it was first/is advertised on network TV, but recently the Hallmark Channel has been showing back to back episodes of it, and I found that I like the show. I like things that have to do with lawyers and law firms. I would say that my dream job is to work in some really prestigious law firm.

You are certainly right about the acts in the reality shows after awhile, I have definitely noticed that. I think they have to be constantly planning new things that they would not otherwise do just to keep the series going.

About the house interior , I'm always swept away by that. Years ago I watched a series about the homes of celebrities for the same reason. I think the name was Cribs. I still wish to own something like what they have someday.

I too like to watch shows that have to do with lawyers and law firms. I like to see problems solved and justice served. My favorite is Law and Order SVU. Continue to dream big my friend, dreams do come true.

I've never really watched (any of the) Law and Order, not my kind of shows. I have watched maybe once or twice since the series have been on.

I really like beautiful interiors, that is one of the reasons why I like law firms. I've worked in 2 law firms so far. Once, when I was fresh out of high school, many years ago I worked in a nice law firm.
A few years ago I worked in another law firm. The interior of that firm was beautiful, and the view was nice, at the top half of a 30 story building. Since many of the offices inside the firm had walls that were actually floor to ceiling windows, you could see a lot of the city being up that high.

Thanks for saying that dreams do come true, I believe that dreams can come true, especially if a person really believes. Belief is key, so is action.

I like to watch Cribs too. I get jealous though, because one of my dreams is to own a really large house. I have rented a large house before, which was good, because it gave me and my 14 year old son (who is now 18 years old) a lot of space to move around in.

We live in a nice place now, and even though it is not a "house", it is a nice "home". I would love to own a nice, large house one day:inlove::inlove:.

I am currently following Pawn Starts and Dual Survival. I like Pawn stars because I like to see the stuff other people bring in. And I like Dual Survival because I like to see how thse guys find their way out of remote places. The new guy on Dual Survival is a nature guy that lived off the land for 20+ years, I think he is awesome.
