    A guard cat? To me, I don't think that's a really good idea, someone can just kick them aside. But what you want is a guard dog, a good breed such as a German shepherd is a very nice choice for a guard dog, if you train them and love them as if they are one of your own, they will stay with you until the end.

    Lol, someone didn't watch the video ;);) I recommend you to watch it, this thread wasn't created to announce the world I think having a guard cat is a good idea :roflmao: Just to be clear, no I don't :thumbsup: Just watch the video, it's so funny! Most cats are all like ''meh'' when something happens, but this one is like ''oh hell no!''. Not something you get to see daily ;)

    I guess that's why me and cats have never been best of friends, i was actually glad when my uncle's cat died, i was way small then but i could always feel the tension between the cat and me, cause scratches, screams and tears would ensue afterwards... :(

    I heard the same theory on that video by a user in another site, I agreed on that as well, I think it was all about being territorial, after all animals see things differently ;) They don't rationalize the same way we do.

    I had the very same issue with my mom's dog, not ashamed or sorry to say I didn't feel even a bit sorry when that dog died. That dog tried to bite me on several occasions and behaved aggressively towards everyone, but specially me, because I looked him in the eye, lol. Stupid idea, I know! So don't feel bad about that cat! I believe as humans we aren't saints, if we are treated bad by something or someone... well, it's hard not dislike that person or animal.

    Oh that seems to be a very mean kitty. Were you playing or manhandling the cat in anyway? Because cats don't really attack unless they get affected by it. The other day I was stretching and my cat was lying above my head, but on the pillow. I actually wasn't resting my head on the pillow anymore but when I stretched, the pillow moved so he felt annoyed so he held my head with both his paws with his claws out! I'm used to his fierceness though.

    I would place it on my laps for a quiet petting time, my thighs would suffer badly, worst case scenario, the claws would get stuck on the dress, so out of utter defiance, the cat would claw deeper into the skin and i 'd scream, the whole process would be horrible, to avoid the whole drama, i stopped visiting my uncle's place altogether until i heard that the cat had drowned in a nearby river, {a small secret celebration was arranged for myself by myself :D:p}

    I never had thought about dogs very much. I guess I am not as much as a animal lover as I thought. I do like the cats being overprotective in a sense. It just adds a sense of security I guess.

    Yeah, but to be honest I don't think most cats are that active in that field, hehehehe! I honestly don't feel that safe with a dog either, I'd prefer to get some sort of security system, only if I could afford it, of course...

    Yeah, I just read it :nailbiting: Damn cat! I understand why you were so happy it died, I know I'd feel the same if it was me! That dog bite me once and sure I was glad and feeling a lot relief when I heard he died! It might sound cruel to some, but some animals are really mean and evil, that dog wasn't socialized properly, I think that's why, plus he was a blue heeler, those dogs are kinda territorial and aggressive.

    That is up to you to decide what kind of security system you want. You can buy a gun if that is what you prefer. Or get some security cams but I don't know of any cheap ones.

    I guess the cat didn't recognize you as their master or you're not a familiar face, hence the aggression? After all, it's your uncle's cat, so she probably didn't see you often.

    And I read that staring at a cat's eyes mean to the cat that you are threatening them, so in Trellum's case, I guess it's the same with dogs?
