I WORK all day long, being home with a 4 year old and twin 7 month old. (Plus my other 3 kids who come home after school!) But I went and got a part time job! I'm a little excited, and a little nervous. I'm in training mode right now. It's easy. But I'll be behind a desk at a very busy tax office, so I know it will be hard sometimes. Wish me luck!

Well good luck Treighsie, you seem like you already have a lot on your plate at home and you are still willing to get a part time job that is very commendable. I have a lot of respect for your decision, I hope you will still have time to be participating in the forums because your opinion is always interesting to hear.

Congratulations on the new job. You have your hands more then full. It should be fun for you to get away just for a little bit and do work of a different kind. Have fun.

I will be in customer service... Taking calls, making spots.
We have 4 children so the extra money will be great. Plus, yes, getting out of the house is great! I miss my family when I'm gone but its not every day.

You have four kids, so you already have a full time job. My hat's off to you, though. Always good to make a little pocket money.

    Good for you:), Congratulations:thumbsup::singing:!
At the risk of my sounding cliche' I'll say that you are very fortunate to get a job in this economy. And I agree with you about the getting out of the house. Going to work keeps the juices flowing:playful: .

You have 5 kids, or 4? Well, either way it is a handful, and now you are adding more work:nailbiting: ! But hey, extra money is a good thing:inlove:

I have 4 kids (they are 15,13,11 and 4) and I watch twins all day. So this is my 'second' job. It's nice, getting out. But it makes for a long day. And I'm nervous and still learning the ropes. I hope it gets easier!

15, 13, and 11...whew baby, I'm tired just thinking about it!! And then you added a 4 year old to the mix!! Not mad at you girlfriend, because I adore kids:inlove: , but you've got your hands full.
I have one 17 year old son, and he is a full time job, but thank God, he is well-mannered and a very hard worker. His dad is younger than me, so sometimes I feel like he's a kid too. My son's dad is my problem child, a pain in the a*s... that's why we're not together, but I still have to deal with him because of my son.

It's always nice to get out of the house, but the best part of getting out, is coming back, at least that's how it is for me. I'm starting a full time job in about a week, so I understand where you are coming from about it being a long day with a job.

It's understandable that you are nervous because this is a new adventure for you, it's like getting into a new relationship:woot::woot:!! But once the extra money starts rolling in, and once you get more familiar with your job, things will smooth themselves out:thumbsup:. Don't worry, you got this. Fake it til you make it, babe;) .

I wish you all of the best. I know it isn't easy being a single parent. I too was a single parent with two children and two jobs. You have my prayers and I'm sure you will be alright. Just remember why you are doing it; the children. Their future is in your hands.

So you're a single parent, are you divorced or widowed? Anyway, I think that being a parent is hard enough as it is, how much more if you are left to raise your kids alone right? So kudos to all single parents out there!

Congratulations! I hope you enjoy and excel at your job! This market is awful these days, love to hear about people landing good positions.

In today's job market one is lucky if one can get one job much less two. Believe me you DO have two jobs. Raising children is a profession in its own right. I've have been there as a single father and it is no fun.:yuck:

Good luck in your new job. I hope you do not do the same mistakes that got me fired, like asking for a pay raise in your first days, being late or telling your boss that you hate your job. I did all these and now I am looking for a new job. I think I need to start looking in all the right places. I have been too choosy when looking for a job. I need to widen my scope and look for any job anywhere in this planet. This way, I will not miss out on any chances of being employed.

I hope my boss is not popular. If he is, I will find it very hard to get a new job after being fired by the popular boss.

Oh no Prey, that's not good!

My second job is now finished. I got really really busy up until the middle of April, and then it ended. (It was tax related). So now I'm just doing my first job, of being a SAHM and child care provider.

Best of luck. After training mode you will be certainly moulded to work independently. Be confident and be sincere with your works.

Congratulations! I know how taxing it can be being cooped up all day just with the kids, so it's awesome that you now have something to get out and do! Good luck with the transition to working again.
