When it was just me and husband, we were really very strict and we do not eat inside the car. We hate the smell of food lingering in the seat covers. The smell won't go away for days. We also do the car-washing ourselves and we do not want to put our efforts to waste. It is not easy to wash a car and clean all the corners of its interior, and most likely it is one of the reasons why we are wary in eating in the car. Just a mere drop of the soda or some breadcrumbs meant double-effort in cleaning it on the next car-wash session. But that was before. Now that we are a family and children cannot be stopped from munching their favorite sandwiches, gulp their orange juice, and even finish their ice cream there, there is nothing else to do but to succumb to the fact that the car has become one of our most convenient places in dining together.

I am not a cleanliness freak so I don't mind eating in my car. I even allow other people to eat in my car and usually carry a plastic bag to collect the trash. One of my friends doesn't allow anyone to eat in his vehicle but he doesn't mind eating in my car, talk about being strict!

Absolutely, but only when a vehicle is at a complete stop. My coworker was in an accident because he wasn't paying attention to the road when some fool cut him off. I learned that lesson from his mistake. I am a door to door sales person, and when I would buy something on the road I would park my car on any street and manja my food.

Do you all let your kids eat in the vehicle? I remember when I was a child, I was allow to eat some types of food in the car. I specifically remember not being allowed to eat ice cream in the car.

If I don't eat in the vehicle, any potential children/offspring of mine certainly won't eat in the car. I would let my cousins eat Ice Cream in the car, but they'll just drop it all over the place so, nah.

I don't have such a habit to eat inside the car. I don't think it is a good idea as it disturbes neatness inside the car. I have also seen people eating while driving. In my opinion it is a bad habit.

I'm not going to lie. I do eat in my car sometimes, but if I do make a mess I always clean it up.

Yeah, my family has never really been strict about that kind of thing, although we do make sure to throw out wrappers and leftovers, we don't want the car to get gross! Back when we had a van we actually kept a small garbage can in it...I'm not sure if other people do that or not, but it works, lol

I personally don't mind the eating in the car ordeal to be that big of dilemma for me. I do have rules though and I like to keep my car rather spotless and presentable since I never know who will end up in it. I absolutely hate trash being left in my car, if you brought it in? You are expected to throw it out. Unfortunately my fiancé' seems to be such a pain when it comes to this; especially when I allow him to borrow my car for a day or two. Once I get it back it literally is a trashcan on wheels and I'll end up spending 3 hours cleaning it out: wiping down the dash, removing trash, vacuuming, windows, etc. I'm also a smell clean freak. I always have to have it smelling decent in my car and not like stale smoke and old food. Since a lot of the people I do carpool smoke... I hate having the smell in there. Just drives me nuts sometimes, granted I am a smoker too. But there's no way I could just sit in the fumes!

I love to eat in my car. I also love the thrill and adventure of eating while driving. The desire to curb the hunger but also the need to be somewhere is what gets me eating while im on the wheel and i do find it enjoyable. Sort of like forbidden fruit. I dont cruise when doing this and i remain alert at all times.

I don't allow no one to eat in my vehicle. I like my vehicle to stay clean inside and out. If I was allow everyone to eat in my vehicle I am the one that gets stuck cleaning it.

I have to admit that i can not resist eating in my car. When the hunger calls, i respond. I am very positive that i am not alone. If i was then there would not be so many drive-thru's and also the ques would not be so big. It is no crime to eat in your car as long as you clean it up and dont let it get gross and disgusting.

I really don't do so, either whilst driving or parked. It can mess up the rig and I'd rather a meal be one of the few times during the day when I'm not doing something else.

I love to eat inside my vehicle but I am not leaving any waste inside my vehicle. I throw those after I finished eating. It's fine to eat inside for as long as you know how to clean your mess because it wouldn't be good having a car that is very messy inside.

Yes. But I make sure to be very careful not to spill anything, ecspecially ketchup, as that would stain pretty bad. And when I'm drinking in the car I'm also super careful.

I always try not to, but sometimes it's something that can't be helped. When I'm short on time and need to get work done it's something that I can't help.

I never eat in my car unless I am the passenger. I don't want to get my steering wheel greasy. I'm glad I don't know anyone with little kids right now. There's no way i'd let a little kid eat in my car.

I do every once in a while, but I drive a '90 F150 that's seen its share of abuse, so I'm not too worried about a few crumbs here and there. Not that I keep it filthy, mind you, but with all the footprints on the rubber floor mats and rips in the seat covers, it's not something that bothers me.
