I know there have been posts on motorcycle helmets, and this one caught my
eye. It is not cheap but after all it is a Bell Helmet. But the big innovation is
more a look thing than a safety thing.
Sort of grabs on to the idea of riders wearing bandanas.

That is different. Can it be removed and how is it mounted? I'm wondering if it will offer some sort of face protection in a crash? Anyway you look at it it will be more protection then just a open face helmet. Is it on the market yet?

    Hey James
Yeah it is a bit different. And the face 'muzzle' can be completely removed. It can also be ratched
up so it is closer or further away from the nose and mouth, maybe depending on personal preference
and or the season and temperature. It is on the market and is listed in the Royal Distributing catalogue.
But I have seen videos on it and the muzzle is not being flogged as a crash protection feature.
MOre of a bug and wind stopping thing, like the bandanas that some riders wear.
I actually have not seen it in the store and I am not sure how the muzzle thing mounts onto the helmet but I do know it is completely detachable.
    Sort of interesting look.

I found a review on the helmet. The helmet is going to $249 which isn't bad. I'm sure that is a US price.
"I have a confession to make. I did not like the Bell Rogue Helmet the first time I wore it. I couldn’t get the face muzzle to line up and then couldn’t get it on my head with the muzzle already in place. When I did finally squeeze my head in, the muzzle rubbed against my nose while riding, which I found irritating. I wasn’t sure if this was how it was designed to sit until I inspected the Rogue Helmet closer and saw that it was, indeed, padded where my nose belongs and deliberately sits just below the bridge.

But I gave it a second chance at the recent press launch of the 2014 Star Bolt. Admittedly, the first time I wore it, I was in Daytona Beach for the press launch of the 2013 Harley Breakout and simply unpacked the helmet and threw it on without familiarizing myself with its nuances. Anything out of the ordinary can be strange at times. But when Bell’s latest cruiser helmet was keeping my face from getting the microderm-abrasion treatment by the sand and wind whipping over San Diego’s Point Loma, the benefits of Rogue’s muzzle began to grow on me. "

Good review. I am tempted now. It actually sells at Royal Distributing in the
catalogue for change under that $300 mark. Next time I am in Royal I will try one.
But on the other side, I can get a Bell full coverage and a Bell Pitboss for the same
price. Or just about the same, about $30 more, a ballpark figure. Worth thinking about.

I was thinking about getting a full coverage this fall, or at least trying one out to see how
it felt and fit. And I like to have two helmets. To rotate them between rides. Currently I just have one. Small damage done to my older helmet this year. Now there is that Bell Rogue. I would not get the Rogue and a
full coverage. It is a 'maybe' at this point.
Also trying to get my head around possible purchase of a Nikon DSLR, we already talked on that one.

I like the design of the helmet. It looks sort of post-apocalyptic, as if it could serve as a gas mask. I love how clean the surface area is. You could easily customize the finish.

The design looks nice, but for the price tag I'd be hesitating to buy it if I knew how to ride a motorcycle, since I can buy a new gadget with that kind of money already, lol.

Yeah I know what you are saying. For me the 'gadget' would be a Nikon Digital SLR camera. I can come
pretty close to the Nikon with the sticker price on the helmet. Yeah I am torn.

I would lean towards the gadget of course, since like in your case you can take lots of photos, and it will keep you entertained, as compared to the helmet that will just protect your face from the dirt, dust and grime on the streets, which a cheaper helmet can do.
