@bala, Yeah I really wonder why in the pictures people seem to love bathing in there despite being very dirty. I read that it can heal ill people that's why it's considered holy and they bathe there. Is this true? Is there really "magic" in that water?

Lolz..Magic..?? Seriously dude,we are well past those crazy tricks up their sleeve, similarly it is all science.
The himalayan rivers are considered pure and since the flow starts at the point where herbs are in abundance it is said to have medicinal qualities as well.
Even though it is dirty,it still is pure considering the origin.

Ah so the one responsible for the "healing properties" of that river are those herbs that are present in the course of the water flow in that river?

Yeah...It is ancient knowledge that Ganges water does not putrefy, even after long periods of storage, thus water from the Ganges has for ages been regarded as incorruptible.

I'm sorry Sidney but I haven't read any of what your mom told you in the bible. I see where it says in 1 Timothy 2:5 that Jesus is the only mediator between God and man. I couldn't open the post from here but I doubt very much this person is quoting from the bible. I know Mary is Jesus' mother but she didn't get that authority and I believe that God's words are final because he said that none of his words shall return unto him void (Isaiah 55:11) and nothing should be added to his words either.

@rosa, I see. I think I need to dig deep further into this. Almost everyone I know worships Mama Mary. I don't think it's wrong though hehe. Well worshiping Mama Mary is certainly better than worshiping Satan right? :D Do you believe in saints and angels though?

Yes, I do believe in saints and angels. Angels are in heaven and I believe saints are Christians that are true worshipers of Jesus Christ. I believe that it is ok to recognize Mary, maybe having one day set aside for that. However, because God says he is a jealous God and he only should be worshiped I don't believe in too much focus been placed on Mary.

Sorry to interrupt the quick fight, but I'd rather be cremated.:) I just don't see the purpose of people wasting land in an increasingly crowded world by hogging it with dead people. Heck, I may even donate my body to science. It really doesn't matter much to me. Maybe my family will convince me to do otherwise in the future.

(Go ahead with the fight, ha ha. )

@rosa, I see, glad to know that we agree on that, I guess you won't mind going to church every Dec. 8 right? That's Mama Mary's special day.

@mcjonesqwe, no, its ok, it's not even a fight, it's just a simple exchange of ideas, it's not even a debate, lol.

No fight at all mcjones, all is done in peace and love. I guess we both learn something from each other so it's a good thing. Gearhead Central is like none other, we don't fight here.

@ Sidney, no, I wouldn't mind going to church on Dec 8th. I recall being crowned as Mary in grade 2 at Primary school. It was sometime in May and our school had a service been held in the Cathedral but being so young and not Catholic i'm not certain what the celebration was for. I've always thought that it was because it was May, in recognition of mothers.

@rosa, I see, I guess that was for Mother's Day, because I know we have no classes every Dec. 8 because it's the Feast Of The Immaculate Conception. It was considered a holiday every Dec. 8 .

@ Sidney, thanks for the information. I have heard of the Feast Of The Immaculate Conception mentioned but I didn't know it was celebrated on Dec. 8th.

I am a believer too of angels being in heaven and being myself being a Christian. God is a jealous God and I would not want to mess with him all the time. I cannot follow any other religion other than being Christianity.

Catholics are also Christians but we might all just be off different denominations within Christianity. I am not into giving Mary all that credit because she didn't choose to be Jesus' mother, she was chosen by God. Catholics believe that she deserves to be famous, I don't agree but we can still live together and be one with God.
