Do you think it's safe to have a DVD player in the car, on the radio area? I say that because I wonder if most drivers won't get distracted with it, even if they're not supposed to use/watch it, but the rest of the people in the car.

Also, is that forbidden in your country to have it on while driving?

I don't really use DVD players, I usually just turn on the radio or put on some music on my phone. (Samsung Galaxy S3)

I don't thinks it's even practically possible to watch it while driving. I have it in my car and the only time it's on is when other people are watching it. In my country there is no such law that forbids it being on while driving.

You can watch movies while driving, if you are using custom DVD players. :p

That being said, I think that having a DVD player in a car is a waste of money. Nowadays everyone has a smartphone with a big enough screen to watch movies comfortably.

I don't know for sure if it's forbidden in the country that I live in, but I don't think it's the most safe thing in the world to have in the radio area. I think if you have young children, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have one tn the back for them. Especially on long trips. However the new cars that they have, and are still, coming out with have a neat backup system and built in navigation in the front radio area. I do think that is a potentially good feature. All in all if you're going to have one in the front radio area just please don't let it hinder your driving and always practice safe driving above everything.

I'm pretty sure the new cars that have navegation system also have DVD player incorporated, at least from what I've seen in some of them.

Only reason I would say to have one is for kids on a long trip

It is totally illegal in my state if it is in a place that the driver can see it. If it is in the, for example to entertain your kids, it is fine though.
