Just wondering if you dislike a certain food that most people find delicious. I never liked the taste of beer, but most people seem to love drinking it. I hate spicy food, but some people love it. The most odd thing that I read was someone actually dislikes the taste of cheese. I love cheese. So, do you dislike a certain food that most people like?

I definitely dislike alcohol, especially rum and I always wonder how people happen to like it so much that they even become addicted to it. As a child I disliked turnips and all the other foods I didn't like then, I have grown to love but not turnip. It has a distinct flavor that I just can't stand, yet their are people who love it in their soups and salads.

Yeah, I don't understand how people can drink alcohol. I don't like the bitter taste. I dislike eating candy and spicy foods, but I love to eat Japanese food. Also I enjoy eating salads because I think they are healthy for you.

Alcohol, like many other foods and drinks, is an acquired taste. I used to hate alcohol, but the more I began to drink it, the more I began to not mind the taste. I still don't like too many liquors, but I love wine and beer.

@rosa, you dislike turnips? As for me I don't mind eating them. They don't taste much, they're actually bland, but they taste better when chilled.

@iRichard, that's odd that you don't like candy, it tastes good!

@Rob93FL, I agree with the rest of you guys that alcohol is an acquired taste, because aside from it being bitter, it also feels hot on the throat

@ Sidney, yes I really dislike turnips. I have never come across anything so gross. If I put it in my soup it changes the whole flavor of the pot and the odor is very strong in the kitchen. I am wondering if the type we have here may be different from your's there since I am not the only person who complains about it. Do you slice it thinly or cook it before chilling it?

How could you not like candy. There are so many variety of candy that it almost seems impossible to not like one. I have to govern myself to stay away from candy. Talk about spicy foods, Caribbean people love spicy foods. I don't indulge until my eyes are teary but I do enjoy a little spice too.

I eat pretty much everything, but I'm not a big fan of a lot of Mexican food. Especially burritos and tacos. Yuck.

@rosa I guess there are different kinds of turnips then? Over here they really don't taste anything. It looks like this, and it's locally called "singkamas": http://www.delmonte.ph/kitchenomics/ingredients/vegetables/turnip

How do the turnips there look like?

@Trellum, Yeah beer is really awful, but have you tasted gin pomelo or a similar variant in your country? It tastes sweet. I tried drinking wine and it's still horrible! I heard Bailey's taste sweet.

@sully3333, I have not tasted a burrito yet, but tacos are delicious! But then again, maybe the Mexican ones are different from what I tasted over here?

@dianethare, Is salty cheese commercially available over there?

Fried Chicken! I hate it. Everyone looks at me like I'm crazy because I don't like chicken. I actually stopped eating it in elementary school because we had it all the time so it started to taste disgusting.

@ Sidney, I saw a little difference with that turnip and that says it may also carry a different flavor. Here is a photo to what ours here looks like.

My problem with cheese is not so much it being unsalted but the sharpness does cause an edgy feeling in my mouth. My son eats cheese with every meal and I still can't understand how he does that. I say the same about alcohol. It burns the throat and just taste terrible.

Piña colada is lovely ;) You should really try it! I love it! Never buy the one that comes prepared in a bottle already that one has such a heavy alcoholic taste... it's better to make it at home ;)

A food that I dislike that everyone else seems to enjoy are onion rings. I don't know about you, but I can not stand the taste and texture of an onion ring. People think I am crazy but I seriously just don't like any onion of any kind.

This tread really makes sense because I would say most people including myself love fried chicken but I could see how having it all the time could cause you to dislike it. I now avoid it although I love it so much and back then when I had a whole lot it I would just stay away from it for a while and then start having it again.

Omg, really? I looooove onion rings!! All about them, I like the flavor and the texture, heck even the color! But I can understand why some people might not like them, after all not so long ago I wasn't a big fan of onions.
