    Meguiars Scratch X

    Product use
Scratch X is used to remove small scratches and blemishes.

    Price
    About $12

    Pros
    • Works like they say it does
    • It does fine scratches and blemishes, but I also found it to be great for tree sap
    • Very easy to use
    Cons
    • The only con I can think of would be price. I think the price could be a bit lower, even though it is worth every cent.

    Summery

This a must have product. It will remove small scratches pretty easy. Just use a good microfiber cloth, put on a dab of Scratch X and rub. Then use a clean section to wipe.

For tree sap I found that if you tear the top off with your finger nail then it will remove it pretty easy in most cases. Just keep changing areas of the cloth and add more product. You don't want to rub too much because you could cause scratches with the sap that are more then Scratch X can remove.

This is a product I have been using for more then 5 years.

There is a Scratch X 2.0 out there now but I have not tried that one yet.

I've always wondered if this stuff works or not. Great to see a review of it here! Seems like it does the job just as advertised. Haven't heard of Scratch X 2.0, but will give it a search.

Ok, so you're willing to go on record and say that this stuff works? I've always wondered and haven't been willing to shell out the money to find out myself. I have an older Pathfinder that needs a little TLC on the paint...I've used a clay bar to get all the residue off and it brightened things up a bit, but now you can really see the tiny dings and scratches and I want to see what I can do to minimize these. I guess I forsee a trip to Advance Auto Parts in my future.

I have used it in my shop. I wouldn't recommend it to do a whole car. For that you would be better off using a rotory buffer (if you know how to use one. If not it isn't that hard to learn but they can cause damage if used incorrectly) or a orbital polisher which is really easy to use. With that and some Meguiars dual action polish (for example) you can bring back some shine in the paint.

For deeper scratches and paint that is in really bad shape you would have use a more aggressive polish and or pads. Meguairs Diamond Cut has been a favorite of mine for a long time. That and Dual Action can leave a paint looking beautiful.
