Oh your aunt and sister are opportunists! No wonder they get along, they probably plan together on how to rip off your grandpa. Maybe it's because your grandpa is already old and not lucid anymore so it's ok for him to be ripped off? He does not complain of being maltreated, so maybe your aunt treated him well before? If she steals cash, how much does she leave for your grandpa to spend?

He is old, but still lucid enough to know he is being ripped off. He doesn't seem to care anymore, he seems to be kinda depressed, it's really sad to be honest. He was better off with us. He spend his days making crafts with newspaper and glue with other old people, it's so sad! Sometimes he doesn't even have cash to buy glue... my mom buys it for him when he asks her.

My favorite comfort food is french fries, I could eat those all day while I'm sad. I think my comfort food is starting to turn into potbelly's grilled chicken and cheddar sandwiches now though its weird.

Nice! I like fries as well, but I'd not add them to my comfort food list as of now. But they're one of my fav food items of all time! As for grilled chicken... I love it!!! Sadly my mom disliked it a lot, so we didn't get to eat it that often.

My favorite comfort food would have to be pizza. I would be in the worst mood and buy me a pizza and it will put the biggest smile on my face.

I like french fries too and I find that I have to be putting up greater resistance for not having it. My son takes it home quite often so it's always right at my nose. I recently had to ask him to try and cut back on consuming so much because it can be a bad habit with negative health enhancement.

In my country the most common comfort food is chips (fries) and sausages but my comfort food is mashed potatoes and avocado. I usually blend the avocado with onions, tomatoes and spice. Its sort of guacamole but its more runny like a sauce. It's so delicious!

What country are you from? Germany? Belgium? The Netherlands? I'm just curious :p Since you said sausages and fries are so popular where you live, so am guessing is either Belgium or The Netherlands? Btw, what a tasty idea! I will surely try it sooner or later, i like to make a salsa with avocado, bit water, lemon juice and salt.

I am guessing you are from Germany or Russia because Germans love sausages and Russians love potato. I love avocado too but only in its natural form. I feed from the limb of my neighbors tree that hang on my property and I eat it with everything that can be eaten.

Oh god I have so many comfort foods. In Canada there is a thing called Poutine which is french fries with cheese curds and a kind of gravy on top. The cheese curds melt with the hot gravy and OH LORD SO GOOD! Canadians know what I'm talking about and I can't do it justice with words, you just have to try it.

Of course there is always pizza. I could probably eat pizza for every meal of my life and never get sick of it. I like a nice cold glass of Coca-Cola from time to time, and that hits the spot real good.

Regular Lays chips is also a vice of mine. No other flavor, just regular.

Now I am super hungry after writing all this.

I have heard about poutine, but I have never tried it. The first time i heard about it was during one of the South park episodes, lol. At first I thoght they were joking, but later I learnt that poutine is actually a Canadian food! I found this pic of it just now:

Most people all over western Europe like potatoes... as well as some Scandinavians. Swedes love eating potatoes, as well as dutch and Germans. Same with Belgians, actually the potato is super popular in all that zone.

South Park: Trolling Canadians since 1997. lol It's all good though.

I know it may not be the most photogenic food, but it is seriously delicious. It gives me heart burn every single time, but it is worth it. I know going in that I will be on the toilet the next day clenching my chest in pain, but I still eat it anyways. Poutine is religion in Canada. I think the main fast food chains like Burger King, Mcdonalds, and KFC all sell poutine, but it may just be a special regional item and not available in the states or other parts of the world.

Oh that's quite sad! Why don't you guys take him there at your home to live with you? Is he really enjoying the company of other old people there that's why he doesn't want to live with you?

@ Trellum, We eat a lot of potatoes here too, in our soups, mashed and as fries but it's mainly children that are crazy about it. Adults would rather have heavy foods like yams, dumplings and rice which keeps them fuller for longer. I was wondering what Poutine was, I see the fries but what are all the other ingredients?

Grilled cheese for sure. If I feel fancy it would almost always be a mushroom, onion, and swiss steak with shrimp. That food makes me feel so good and full. I'm sure I have several others but I just can't remember them right now.

It is fries with cheese curds and gravy. The Wikipedia entry can explain a bit more. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poutine

That is just one kind of poutine that Trellum pictured above, though. You can basically put anything on poutine. There is a place in Toronto called "Smokes Poutinerie" and it has a dozen different poutine dishes. All have the basic french fries and gravy sauce, but you can top them with anything from mushrooms, peas, bacon, pulled pork, etc.

I kind of make a non-authentic poutine at home with just frozen fries, brown chicken gravy, and mozzarella cheese. It tastes great even if it isn't what some of the elitist poutine snobs in Montreal would call "authentic." ;)

My mom would like to, but my aunt wouldn't let that happen. Because my aunt and sister are expecting to get more cash from his retirement! So yeah, she won't let my mom take him home, now my sister is in charge and is going to buy a new car next Christmas... surely with the money she's been stealing from him. I'm sure, since she no longer works and had to retire because her back. So she is getting a bit less than the half she used to get before, so of course she will buy that with the cash she stole.

We can do nothing, my aunt is really dangerous, and when I say dangerous I mean DEAD dangerous. She is evil, believe me.

Hihihihih, awesome!!!! It sounds good, so that brown sauce is basically gravy? I wonder what it tastes like, the whole mix I mean. I heard this is popular among the french speaking Canadians, what about the provinces? I might try it one day over here ;) I love fries!
